Mr Switch became the DMC World Champion in 2014; this is his 4th world title, following his back-to-back wins in the Battle For World Supremacy, 3 years in a row (2008–2010). He is the first ever DJ in history to perform on the BBC Proms, the UK’s famous music festival, as soloist with the National Youth Orchestra of Great Britain under Vladimir Jurowski (2011).
He started DJing when he was just 11 years old. He gained support from rapper Professor Green, actor Craig Charles, DJ Mistajam, such groups as Public Enemy, 2 Bad Mice, and The Beatbox. He has performed at clubs and conferences, castles and cinemas, cricket matches and churches. He created mixes for Radio 1, 1Xtra, Kiss FM, and BBC Asian Network; he took part in BBC entertainment shows. He was invited to participate in closing DJ sets at festivals of contemporary performing arts such as Glastonbury, Shambala, and Bestival.
