The Accademia Hermans was founded in 2000 by Fabio Ciofini who brought together young musicians and singers, graduates of Europe’s finest schools, sharing his enthusiasm and love for ancient music. The Accademia Hermans is the resident orchestra at the Cucinelli Theatre in Solomeo (Italy).
The orchestra gives concerts and takes part in ancient music festivals in Italy, the Netherlands and the USA. Every two years the orchestra records CDs in various historical places (palazzi and churches). It has recorded albums dedicated mostly to Baroque music of Italy, Germany and Holland; the CD of Mozart’s Requiem and concertos (published by Bottega Discantica in 2011) was judged “exceptional” by the Musica magazine.
The orchestra regularly works with the Festival Villa Solomei. It has been in charge of artistic management of two festivals: “Parco in… Musica” in Valnerina and “Musica e Musei” in Umbria’s major museums.
