Fabio Ciofini is a graduate of the Sweelinck Conservatory of Music in Amsterdam; he studied organ, piano and fortepiano at the Conservatory of Perugia. He was appointed “organist titulaire” in Collescipoli. He appears regularly in Italy, Europe, USA, Canada, Mongolia and Japan as a recitalist and he is a frequent guest at Baroque music festivals in Italy, Germany, Finland, Great Britain, and USA. He also gives lectures and master classes. He teaches harpsichord and organ at the Conservatory of Terni. He has recorded for BBC, ZDF, YLE, and RAI.
Since 2000 he has been the director and conductor of the Accademia Hermans. The orchestra conducted by Fabio Ciofini recorded CDs for Bottega Discantica (Milan), Loft Recordings (Seattle), Brilliant Classics (Amsterdam) and Glossa (Madrid). His latest album (Glossa) won a Diapason D’Or award from French magazine Diapason and a German Record Critics’ award.
