Lukasz Konieczny (bass), Germany

Winner of the Special prize at the International Song Contest in Istanbul. Participant of the Rheinsberg Opera Festival, the Händel Festival, Halle, the Ruhr Piano Festival, the Malta Festival Poznań.

A native of Lodz, Poland, Mr. Konieczny graduated from the Karol Lipinski Academy of Music in Wroclaw and completed acting classes at the International Film School in Cologne, Germany. He took part in numerous master classes conducted by such opera singers and teachers as Christian Elßner, Deborah Polaski, Gundula Hintz, David Syrus, Jane Henschel, Linda Watson, and Franz Grundheber.

He made his debut as Polyphemus (Acis and Galatea by G. F. Handel) at the Rheinsberg Opera Festival with the Vienna Academy Orchestra conducted by Martin Haselböck in 2010. From 2011 to 2019, he was a soloist at the Düsseldorf Opera House. Has appeared on the stages of many German theaters, such as the Mainfranken Theater in Würzburg, the Theater Aachen, the Bavarian and Dresden State Operas, the Hamburg Opera House. He has repeatedly taken part in performances of the Polish National Opera, with which he toured Dubai.

His repertoire includes more than fifty operatic roles in works by Beethoven, Verdi, Offenbach, Wagner, Moniuszko, Prokofiev and others. The singer took part in the performances of major cantata and oratorio compositions: the Polish Requiem by Krzysztof Penderecki at the Polish Music Festival in Krakow (2014), Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony at the Krakow Philharmonic (2016), and Mozart’s Requiem at the Théâtre du Capitole Toulouse (2017).
