Evgeniya Chernova (mezzo-soprano), Russia

Laureate and diploma winner of regional and international competitions. Graduated from the Ural State Mussorgsky Conservatoire (class of Professor Vera Baeva, People’s Artist of the USSR) and a qualification apprenticeship at the Conservatoire (class of Prof. Lilia Polyakova). Evgeniya’s singing career began in the Consonance Choir in Novokuznetsk where she sang from 1999 to 2009. She worked as a choir artist at the Sverdlovsk Theater of Musical Comedy from 2013 to 2019. During 2019/2020 season, she was a soloist of the Chelyabinsk Opera and Ballet Theatre, where she played Dunyasha in Rimsky-Korsakov’s The Tsar’s Bride and Kat Pinkerton in Puccini’s Madame Butterfly. She took part in productions by Kirill Strezhnev, Alexei Frandetti, Dmitry Starodubtsev, and Christopher Olden and worked with maestros Boris Nodelman, Evgeny Volynsky, Alexander Matushkin, Oliver von Dohnanyi. In 2007, Evgeniya was awarded the Hope of Kuzbass medal.
